Cupping

…is the therapeutic use of vacuum — or negative pressure. Not the kind you feel when someone tells you your mom’s cast iron is rusty, but a purposeful negative space, created to draw your body’s own healing factors to the surface.

In traditional deep tissue work, we rely on positive pressure — compressing into the tissue to work through tension and trouble areas. Cupping is the beautiful counterpart to that. A pull instead of a push, yin to the yang. It pairs wonderfully alongside a deep tissue or reflexology session, and stands just as powerfully on its own as a tremendously beneficial therapy.

…has many positive physiological effects

  • Increased local circulation

  • Reduction of muscle tension

  • Stimulation of the lymphatic system

  • Release of fascial adhesions

  • Pain reduction

  • Promotion of relaxation and stress relief
